Hay Bendito More Like Aibonito

Image
Bueno, well, this is my last time in Arecibo. I'm going to the beautiful mountains of Aibonito, so this is qué pasó in my last week here. Sorry for no fotos last week, I ran out of time. This week, you'll get double :) PS: Sorry for the novel, I had to. It's my last week in Arecibo, jaja. Monday - So for Pday, we went to Vega Baja. Well, Sunday night we went to the church to get something done on the computer, and the bishop took the keys home, so we were waiting for him to give us the keys. We woke up and cleaned before we went to Walmart, which was actually so much better until we got there and it was PACKED. Then we found a plantain, three plantains in 1 plantain. It was a triple single, so sick. Then the lady made us scan it for 3, even though it was 1 plantain. Smh. Then we went to Vega Baja to get haircuts from Elder Phillip's. I didn't get a huge difference, I just got cleaned up, but the kids actually have really fire haircuts. Then we ordered $60 worth of p...

Mancha De Platano

Buenos dias mis amigos. Como están todo de ustedes? Hoy el 22 de Noviembre 2021 es un día muy importante. Saben por qué? Porque es el día en que mi enteré de donde viene el sabor de gatorade electric blue. De la laguna 69 en Perú  Bueno, so this week was very fast and idek what happened but... transfers are next week again, lol! How did that happen so fast? So this might be my last week in Arecibo. I've been here for 3 transfers. I hope I don't get scuffed. But I might be getting a new area next week. You'll find out. NEXT WEEK. Monday - P-day, we love P-day. I did the usual P-day things. We cleaned, went to Walmart, bought some food. Then we had a district activity on some grass cliff by the beach (we're not allowed on sand or the beach), so we got to eat pizza there which was fun. Then we came back to the chapel and we called family and stuff. Did P-day things, you know the gist. Then we finished P-day at 6 and started our day. So what we did was we had a lesson with ...

Beans. More Beans. Lots Of Beans. Miracles And 3 Baptisms The Same Day We Met Them!

Well, another week. Today marks my 5-month mark, and that's not a lot, but I'm very sad that I only have 19 left. You might be thinking that's a lot, and it is, but it isn't. These past 5 months have been the best months of my life, and they've also gone by way too fast, so I'm kinda sad how fast it's going by. I've said it so many times, and I'll say it till the day I die. The best 3 decisions of my life have been: 1) baptism, 2) my endowment/going through the temple, and 3) my mission. It's funny how all of those things have to do with Jesus Christ and his gospel, his true church. This gospel and this church are the most joy I have ever experienced, and I am so grateful to be a part of it. So... if you're thinking about a mission, yes! If you're thinking about repenting and coming back to church, yes! If you need to do all that you can to have this in your life, it's completely worth it. So, Monday night when P-day ended, we went to...

Cement Box On Fire?

Image
Don't worry, cement can't catch on fire, lol. But if it could, our house would be burnt down. Jajaja! So we were just sitting in the kitchen, cooking up some fire tostones, and my companion pulled the "too hot aceite" (oil) hack. The house was an oil fire (kinda like it was smoking a lot, like a lot, but there weren't flames). Luckily for me, I had already learned my lesson on adding water to hot oil in my first week on the mission when I burnt my hand and exploded our kitchen. So we didn't do that again. But we did save the cement box (that physically can't burn). Houses in Puerto Rico don't burn down; they're literally cement boxes. And the plants here are so green, there are never fires, lol. Anyways, we had a hotboxed house now with a hot oil stench, and it smelled like burnt plantains, jajaja. Then later in the week, I was pulling something out from the oven, and the rag hit the little heater part and started a rag fire. I put it out really qu...

Hay Bendito

Image
Que la que hay?! ¡Wepa pa! Well, somehow it's another week here as a missionary. The weeks fly by so fast, but the days drag on. Idek, time is created for man and by man. It's in the scriptures, I can prove it - Alma 40:8. Now, whether there is more than one time appointed for men to rise, it mattereth not; for all do not die at once, and this mattereth not; all is as one day with God, and time only is measured unto men. Did you see that last part? Time is only measured unto men, ¿qué significa? It means that time is fake, and so are languages. Amén. Bueno, so we're still fasting from English, but I have cheated a lot. But I have gotten so much better, I couldn't take it anymore, my brain was cooked. So it's mostly Spanish and Spanglish, and then a tiny bit of English when it's too much. Jaja, but I am not receiving English anywhere, so I am getting really good at understanding what people say to me. And this sounds like I'm not only speaking Spanish, okay, ...
