We were walking in the street from 2-7, which was in the same neighborhood, and it was hot! Elder Donaldson and I found an iguana stuck in a fence. So, what did we do? Well, it was stuck in barb wire, so what did we do? We performed surgery and helped that iguana live! I was in shock after being very stunned that it didn't die on the fence. I'm pretty sure it gave up, but it's free.
We had a cool district council this week. President Hermana Skinner came, and then they did interviews. I had a really cool interview. It's always good to see the president and hear his advice.
Our most progressing friend and her husband are both coming to church and stuff and reading, and now they're having lots of marriage problems. I feel like a marriage counselor. I've never talked so much about the plan of salvation and eternal families and marriage. I have also studied so many talks and read the proclamation of the family like 35 times. This marriage thing is hard. I don't want to get married. JUST KIDDING. What I have been learning from this is that 1) Jesus Christ is and should be the center of our relationships and homes. I am so grateful I was raised in a house with the gospel. I've never testified so much about how much the gospel will change their lives.
Speaking of this testifying, I was talking to President Skinner in my interview, and it was super good. He asked about our favorite scripture. Somehow it got to the topic of missions and how missions truly feel like therapy. And I mentioned how lucky I was to have the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ when I was growing up. With all the experiences I've been seeing, I've become very grateful. It feels almost selfish to not serve and share these blessings with others. I've decided I am also very grateful to be serving. Then President pointed out something from my favorite chapter of the Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 2:8: "Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth." And I was like, dang, this chapter speaks to me; it really is the Elder Tew chapter. And there are 2 twos in it, so, like, I own it. Sorry, guys.
We had a fireside with the youth of our ward on the beach. That was pretty cool. It was nice to finally touch sand for the first time and also be able to hang out with the youth and share testimonies around a fire. It was a very cool experience. I hope our conversion stories impacted them.
Pretty good week. I am doing well. I'm happy and growing as a person. It's pretty chill.
