BAPTISM

Dang, this is so weird! Another transfer has come and gone, and now Elder Donaldson is on Saint Kitts.

This week was insanely cool. We had a really good week full of miracles, and lots of people kept their commitments.

We baptized Oscar this week. I've never seen someone so ready. We found him three weeks ago, invited him to be baptized our first contact. Now he's confirmed three weeks later and has the Aaronic priesthood! Pretty impressive to me. How hard the Spirit works. He was really good at keeping commitments. It's made me realize how much God has prepared people for the gospel and who is actually not ready to accept.

Jose and Marie, our most progressing friends, finally accepted a baptismal date for July 9th. Let me tell you, that was the hardest thing ever, getting them to accept a date. But we came in with the Spirit, and we prayed a lot on how we could help them. They have been to church five times in a row, so we knew they were ready. We went into the lesson with an idea to read 3 Nephi 11 with them to talk about authority and about how big of a blessing baptism is. So, Elder Donaldson and I explained the verses really powerfully, and the Spirit was super strong. We invited them to be baptized on July 9th, and he said "si" and she said "I need to ask God." So we said, "Let's ask right now together," and we all kneeled down on the floor. All four of us offered a prayer, and THEY KNEW! This is the coolest thing I have ever experienced on my mission because we did it with Cristin also (the lady that was just baptized). So we did it, and they both said yes! This was an amazing miracle to have seen and been a part of. I really have learned to just trust in the Lord and Moroni's promise and just look with the eye of faith, that God really will answer your prayers and he keeps his promises.

So, Elder Donaldson and I celebrated his birthday on Sunday.

We had district counsel, and I cut open a coconut.

We had transfer calls; all my companions are on the islands.

PS: If anyone has any advice for me on how to be a district leader, please let me know.
