Believer Missionary Attitude

Image
Well, this week, I remember saying to someone (a missionary), "You could find someone tomorrow, and they will come to church and be baptized in two weeks." This week, I was on exchanges with Elder Bishopp. He's an amazing missionary with a faith the size of a mustard seed. He truly moves mountains and believes in people so much. He has the believer missionary attitude. As we were on the exchange, we found ourselves walking up to a nice blue house. It had a man inside. His name was Edelmiro. He's a very humble gentleman, and he was super cool. He got super excited after a member's testimony video we showed him, which explained the Book of Mormon. And he ran and came back from his small, humble house and showed us his master's in theology that he has. He was so excited to talk to us about religion, so we said we would come back tomorrow. Saturday came, and we did an awesome service in the morning for our member Hermana Laura. She's so cool. She served her mi...

Ponce Week 14

This week was a good week. We had a lot of work to do and a lot of fun. The closer I get to the end, the more I feel like my mission is coming full circle. This week, we met a guy trying to find a lady. He then looked at the lady's house, yelled at her to come out, and she said, "I don't have time for the Mormons." He yelled back and said, "SHUT UP and make time." Then we taught her and came back the next day. She was actually cool. She's a less active's mom, which is why we were looking for her. Shout out to that amazing man. "Que te vayas." "Me voy." "Vete." This was a command call they usually say to dogs: "vete." I haven't heard it otherwise. It was from some teenage Puerto Rican girls, 17 years old, yelling at each other. "Chao entonces" (Argentine comp). We walked and walked and walked. Nine miles on Thursday in Ponce without a car because the elders have no car. It was a lot of walking, and...

June 11th Is My Home Coming Talk, Who Wants To Come?

This week was good. We had a weird week. We had a good week. We had transfer calls this week. I am staying in Santa Isabel as Zl1, and Elder Tau is going to be my new companion. Elder Tau is from Argentina, so this will be the first native Spanish speaker I will have as a companion, and I am likely saying it will be my last. But this is going to be a confusing time for Elder Tew and Elder Tau. Pooped my pants in a member's house. Elder Aslami whipped me with a belt. Ate a fish at Pai. There was a marathon in Coamo, and it was absolutely so crowded. Found an elect family, taught them twice, they said they want to be exalted, then disappeared. Let's not talk about that. Went walking in the same neighborhood as some Jehovah's Witnesses by accident.
