All These Mosquitos Are My Childs
Wow, welcome back to Puerto Rico! I'm glad you could teleport to La Isla del Encanto with me for a few minutes. ¡Qué grande la semana! We had this idea, not me, an elder bishop, on an exchange this week to go and pinpoint the houses of the less active on Google Maps at the church. Just trying to find less activities has resulted in the most amazing miracles.
The first less active miracle was us trying to find a less active house in Coamo, Puerto Rico. Yeah, fun fact: Coamo is the third oldest pueblo in Puerto Rico.
We were trying to find this less active house, and out of the blue, we pulled up to a street, and the elder bishop had these special eyes to just stop and see and listen to the spirit. He's a grande for real. Anywho, he's like, "Let's talk to that lady." I was like, "I didn't even see that lady." I was so focused on the purpose of the less active, I didn't even see the other lady sweeping over there. Her name was Milagros. ¡Qué milagro, aye? (For those who don't know Spanish, "milagro" means miracle. So, what a miracle we found miracles. ;) ) Anyways, we find out two seconds in, she's a member (very active as well). Baptized in 1997 but moved to Michigan. She was just there cleaning up her house for when she comes back in June. We invited her to church. One example of us being exactly where God wanted us, to let her know they now meet in another building and tell her the time of church. It was cool to see her when she was there before us at the building on Sunday. Ehhhhh, embarrassing. Nah, she's just a saint.
Another less active finding miracle. My Argen(fine) companion and I were looking for a less active couple. We decided to go searching in the middle of nowhere. We would have probably never ended up on the street, and we ended up deciding to get out of the car. We were just driving, trying to find house numbers because, well, in big neighborhoods where you don't know where the numbers are, it's most effective to drive to the house. Anyways, we got out of the car, and we started walking. There was a guy washing his car, and he said, "Kayla, the MORMONS COME NOW," which was weird because they usually say run, not come. Anywho, we asked this man if we could clean his car, and he said, "No, you can talk to my wife." And we were like, "What the?" They never want us to talk to them, let alone a significant other. And he repeated it again, "Go talk to my wife." So we went. She is an amazing lady named Kayla that met with the missionaries about 8 years ago when she lived in New Jersey. She goes on to talk to us super awesomely and share amazing stories she had with the missionaries. I was like, "This lady is definitely less active." So I asked her if she was baptized, and she said no. I was like, "What?" Anyways, we found out the missionaries she met and their names because the one gifted her a tag. What kind of movie? This is insane. I was caught up into the third heaven or something. Anywho, we figured out another appointment with her, and I took a picture with her and sent a message to the missionary that left her a tag, and this was his reply: "Omggg, I have been wondering where in the world she has been. I love her. She is amazing. Wow, thank you, elder, please send her my love and regards. How has she been? I can't believe she remembers me, yes. She was amazing, always so excited and full of energy, even when going through tough times. I vaguely remember how we got to know her, but I remember our visit with her. She is a great person. We mostly let her follow the spirit and what she really wanted to hear in that moment, cheering for her family. I will definitely help you elders and meet her needs. I'm so glad you guys found her again and were able to reach me. It means the world to me, confirming to me that whatever we do, either change a lot and baptize or plant seeds in people from good behavior or even help them think outside the box. Glad to hear that the seed is about to bloom. Who knew it was the right time for her? You elders aim to continue the work we started 8 years ago. Wow, this work is real, and I love it." It is a huge testimony builder to all of us that God thinks of the one truly, and he doesn't care about planting seeds. It's his work. It's so much bigger than we think. 8 years later, and this lady still remembers him. That's insane.
