I will be reporting on my mission. Everyone is welcome.

Welcome back to Puerto Rico and Ponce, part 65.
I now understand why they call it the hottest part of the island here in the south. It has been 95 degrees the past few days, I swear. It's so hot and sweaty. I LOVE IT!!! I'M GETTING SO SUNBURNT, AND I LOVE IT. I love the sun. It makes me feel God's love and just happy. I smell like these rotting mangos that are all over the place. What a dream come true. Man, am I going to miss it so much. There is a saying down here in Ponce. Ponce is Ponce, a los demás es parking. It's just some prideful thing we say here: Ponce is Ponce, and everything else is parking. They also say Ponce es Ponce y los demás huele bien. Or in English, Ponce is Ponce, and everything else smells good. It's because the south is very hot, and so the tropical fruits flourish down here. Meaning there are A LOT of mangos. Like a lot. So there are a lot of rotten mangos on the street.

This week we had our last zone conference as a missionary. It was a really good zone conference. I have always loved the zone conferences because I get to see everyone and talk to all my past comps or members of my Districts.

We had some really good lessons with our friend Marcus. He's a baseball player for the double-A baseball team here in Coamo. He has had Tommy John surgery, and I was like the only person who knew what that was when we were talking, so it got us in the door. He is actually super elect and ready for the gospel. We taught him a few lessons this week, and they were really powerful. Please keep Marcus in your prayers.

We are teaching a guy named Jose Pagan. He is an old college professor at the college here in Ponce. He is really cool and loves learning and reading. He also keeps commitments. It's game over here. Jose came to church this Sunday, which was really awesome. He said he'd be there, and he was there with a little help from the spirit and the missionaries. On the way to the chapel, he got lost. I had a prompting because it was 5 minutes to start, and he still hadn't shown up, and I was like, "Jose, are you on your way?" and he was like, "I was lost." So it was good we called him because most people would get frustrated and leave. I love how calm he was. But we did have to go for a morning sprint in 95-degree sun in a long sleeve to find a man looking for Jesus and his Church, and it was so worth it. I would run a mile in that sun for someone to be able to take the Lord's true sacrament. It's such a special thing to see someone take the sacrament for the first time.

Luz is still progressing, but we haven't been able to get her to church since Easter. We had a really good lesson with her this week about her spiritual goals, and she said she wants to go to church more. We read the story of the brother of Jared and talked about faith and action. She understood and still didn't come to church because her son woke up with diarrhea. Yeah, it's rough for a mom who lives alone and gets super sick all the time. She has the desire. It's just that something always happens. But the desire is what matters. It's not about our time; it's about God's timing. I know she will get baptized when the Lord sees it to be right.

Edvelio is going to be baptized this Saturday. His friend got sick and wanted to be at his baptism, so we moved it a week back.
