Milk Bath, Cows In The Road, Freee Groceries And Bible Bashing (Not Really)

"¡Qué la que hay, mi corazón!"??? So, remember last week when the senior couple came and fixed our lights and our shower, and gave us warm water? Yeah, so our amigo Melvin (he's literally the best member and the best person I've ever met, besides my grandma and Leighton). He's so funny; he kept telling us, "We need to wash our windows because the people from San Juan are going to come and inspect our house." They came and said nothing about the windows, so this is where it's funny. They said nothing about the windows, but Melvin comes over on Tuesday and he goes (he knows English because he grew up in Brooklyn), so he says, "How was your inspection, boys?" (We planned earlier to tell him they told us the windows were dirty. We are not lying; we just wanted to make him feel good for being "right"). So we go, "Good, the only thing they said was that our windows were a little dirty." Melvin turns and looks at Elder Christen...

Piss Floor....The Toilet Is Broken So Just Go On The Floor (You Might As Well)

Que la que hay? ¿Cómo están? ¿Cómo fue su semana? English is a fake idioma. Like, I don't even know how I am typing this. I feel like I don't know English or Spanish. I just feel like a brain dead fool, to be honest. Like, English is not real. I don't know how I lived in a country that speaks English. Like, what even is that? How is English real? It seems like a fever dream. Like the idea of going outside and everything being in English. The idea of going to the drive-thru and not having to try so hard to communicate what I want. The idea of understanding what they're asking you. The idea of understanding church. Like, English is fake. I don't know. I just can't explain it in words how I feel. I literally think I might forget English. It doesn't even make sense to me how I am just thinking, talking, and typing in this fake language right now. I don't know Spanish, but I am a thousand times better than last week and a month ago, and it's slowly coming...

Gringo Days

¿Qué hay? Woah, Monday again. Crazy how that works. Time is so weird. Two years is so long. 16 transfers is not long. If you have 3 transfers left in your mission, that's like 4 months, but like 3 transfers is not a lot, lol. Only missionaries will get it, but it works that way. Transfer time is short, month time is long. The days drag on and the weeks fly by. Last P-Day, we went to our now recent convert Carmen's house when P-Day ended at 6 pm. When we were there, she was getting taught such a good lesson. We had an amazing lesson. The lesson part isn't the point of this story; it's the after lesson. Lol, we were about to finish our lesson when her son says, 'Ma, hay un cangrejo' (mom, there is a crab). So we were like, 'Whaaa, a crab in your house? It's going to be all tiny and cute.' No, this was a huge crab, one that has a built-in shell. So we poked it with a few sticks to try and get it out (it was hiding under a cabinet after a while). Then he...

Power Outage, Pedophile Wants Me, Carmen Is Being Baptized And Transfers!!!!

Wow, I did it! I completed the hardest part—the first six weeks! I cannot believe I have been a missionary for 12 weeks. That's three months! I don't believe it. Time actually does fly. Okay, so the internet at the church is out, so my mom is going to forward this to the weekly. So, you will get two emails. But if you're on this list, you're important, and you'll most likely get an email two times with the same thing. Lol. So, this week, to start off, Carmen is getting baptized on Friday. I'm so excited for her! All of her neighbors come to our lessons now. Honestly, not us as missionaries, but it's very possible that her whole street will be converted. I have no doubt. They are all old people who are best friends. It's literally the funniest thing. Five years ago, I would never have thought that I would be in the beach towns of Puerto Rico, hanging out with all these random people in their 70s and having the time of my life. It's crazy how much a mi...
