Shout Out Brandon Anderson For Keeping His Word.

Hey guys. I'm doing good. I will go home in 120 days, and I am terrified. I think it's giving me extreme anxiety that it's almost over. The miracle for this week started on Sunday last week. We decided to bring a member to a cita, and he came, and my companion and I both forgot a Book of Mormon. We were really embarrassed, thinking, "Oh my goodness, what horrible missionaries forgot a Book of Mormon?" So Tuesday, we decided to bring our friend the Book of Mormon, but he was not home. My companion asked if we should leave it on his door, and I said, "No, I feel we should take it." Then I thought and said, "No, let's take it with us" (usually I would just leave it). So we left. Then, on Tuesday, we were back in his neighborhood, and I'm like, "Let's go to his street." So we went, and we happened to stumble upon a basher who asked me what color Jesus was. I was like, "Not this again." So then we walked away, found t...

This Email Is Dedicated To Elder MAXIMILION FERNANDEZ From MICHIGAN

This week was pretty good. Most of the weeks are good; I don't really see bad weeks anymore. I think it's a focus thing. You just got to focus on what's happened and choose the good. The mission is great. I am learning, growing, and having a good time. Ever since the temple dedication, the missionary work here has just gotten weirdly easier. I don't know if anyone understands but us missionaries. We just walked up to a gated neighborhood this week. No questions asked, didn't say a word to us, and they came and unlocked the doors with keys and then walked back to their shed. Usually, they let us in, but not that easily. Also, the people are so much more receptive to the spirit, it seems like. And we talk about the Book of Mormon, and so many people are wanting to meet and hear about it. It's crazy how the quote that Satan's power weakens when there is a temple is true. And we are just finding families like crazy. I remember early on in my mission, Hermana Ski...

Prayers For Carmen's Passing

Image
Well, to start off on a sad note, Carmen del Valle Ramos has been transferred to the spirit world. The lady I baptized in Arecibo passed away last night. It's a great privilege to have met her. She was my Puerto Rican grandmother, and I am so blessed to have been used as an instrument in the hands of God to be there at the right time in the right place to get to know her and the love she had for us. Please keep the members of Arecibo and Carmen's family in your prayers. This last transfer has been flying by, and I am loving it. I am having so much fun with my companion and my area. I am sorry I have been a little bit dry in the emails about what is happening. I am super tired, like so tired every day. So, if any of you are aware of what "whitewashing an area" is (it's where two missionaries come into an area brand new and they know nothing about it), I am actually doing that right now in a branch that has not had missionaries in 6 months over the area. It has been...

The Ponce Sunburns

This week was pretty crazy. This is Elder Clegg typing; hope you all are doing well. I'm serving in Juana Diaz, so I don't really know what Elder Tew's week was like, but he's doing pretty good. They had MLC on Wednesday, which I'm sure was fun, but I couldn't tell you since I wasn't there. Until next week, Elder Clegg MLC Was absolutely insane. We had Hermana Skinner's tacos and all. It was just a nice council with the president and all the leaders of the mission. It was like an upgraded zone conference, to be honest with you. It was Three Kings Day this week, which was pretty cool. Three Kings Day here is kinda like the Fourth of July in Utah. There are fireworks, and it's less of a family party like Christmas but more like an outside neighborhood thing. So we decided to go walking in this neighborhood that was gated. And we got in, and there was a bunch of Puerto Rican music at the cancha. So we decided to go to the cancha and then they gave us fr...

That They Might Be An Instrument In The Hands Of God (Forgot To Hit Send) Sorry For The Apostasy

We met in the street named Louis. He was from Vegas, visiting family for the holidays. We talked to him, and he was just sitting there. He's been through a lot, like a lot; he was in prison for 14 years. So, we invited him to church, and he came! It was amazing to see how we were in the right place at the right time to bless God's children. Then, in church, he was sharing in Sunday school about how his wallet got stolen in the airport, and he has had no money this whole family vacation. And he's been the happiest ever. Then, out of nowhere, we showed up at his door, and now he's in God's Church. He hasn't ever been to church before in his life, so it was a miracle. It got me pondering a lot about being in the right place at the right time. In sacrament, I gave a talk about this as well. And I have been thinking about it a lot. I learned a valuable lesson about seven months ago. My companion at the time and I were serving in the ward of Toa Baja in the Toa Baja S...
