QUE GRANDE EL BINGHAM

Image
This week was good. We had a stake conference with the Ponce Stake, and that was super good. Then, Sunday night, Elder Bishopp made us all steaks. It was pretty steaky... or is it stakey? Weekend. We had our friend Ebelio meet with us. He is a member reference, and it's super good. He is a really awesome man who used to be the jeweler of the Coamo Pueblo. Ebelio also came to the stake conference. The stake conference was really good. Actually, there were countless talks that were super good. I really liked President Skinner's talk. He talked about looking for the lost sheep and shared a story about a bishopric counselor who would go and get the youth before church. Basically, a really good story. Fun Ponce Church facts: The stake of Ponce was founded in 1982, and President Skinner served as a zone leader for six months in the Ponce 1st Ward in 1983. It was pretty cool to hear him talk about that and his time here as a zone leader for six months because, well, I'm not servin...

Well, we had an exchange between me and Elder Stacy. We decided to go to the neighborhood by the beach. Let me tell you, these neighborhoods are my favorite because the people there are pure Puerto Rican. If anyone knows me, you know my brain just doesn't make sense sometimes. That's why I love Puerto Rico. Nothing here makes sense ever, and it's great. Anyways, we were here and we were talking to a lady. She said she couldn't meet with us because she had a black foot. She showed us her foot, and it was the same color as every foot, just swollen. Anyways, we then proceeded to talk to her. It's not going anywhere. She walked away to get water for us, and I saw a mousetrap on her fence, so I grabbed it. Then she came out, and I asked her why she had a mousetrap. She told me they were for the big rats and told me not to touch it because it has diseases. Well, too late for that. We then proceeded to Nidza's house, who is asking us to give her a sec so she can brush ...

Week Of Exchanges

Welcome back to Puerto Rico. We had a good week this week, a little bit crazy but overall really good. Me and Elder Bishopp did an exchange this week. He is a great missionary with tons of faith, like always. It was fire!! We decided to call his friend Peter. We went to his house that night and asked him why he is scared of Jesus. The spirit was just super strong, and we kind of worked things out with him. He showed up to church on Sunday. Our friend Luz came to church on Sunday. We had an exchange, and Elder Davis (the greatest Florida man ever) came and got that lady to show up to church with the amazing spirit he brings as a missionary. He's an amazing missionary as well, always with a smile and always making others happy. His companion, Elder Stacy, is super great as well. We have an amazing zone. Elder Stacy is like the best pianist I have ever seen, and he has the most fiery Spanish I have ever seen. He is a super hard worker and from Texas, so just imagine how that companion...

Week 16 In The Sun Of The Ponce

4/4 conferences. Dang, that conference was literally a modern-day 3 Nephi. Literally covered every topic from 3rd Nephi and shouted it out like 7 times. As me and Elder Bishopp were saying, if you want a conference where the Lord himself would appear, that's what he would say. Contention is devilish. He is the Savior; he talked about his resurrection and atonement, covenants and baptism, the doctrine, covenants, and the Sermon on the Mount Christlike attributes. Can we talk about the fact that Elder Oaks got up and just read Jesus? And that none of the talks were correlated, purely guided by the Spirit. Talk about the new Easter story of 3 Nephi, and then they delivered a modern-day 3 Nephi. The Savior literally guided that conference. Here are some one-liners that stuck out to me: "Never give up an opportunity to testify of Christ." "Bear testimony of what you know and believe and what you feel, not just of what you are thankful for." "We cannot stand as w...
